Dear colleagues,

I hope you are all doing well.

Have you visited ISA Scholars lately? We have been hard at work, and I am pleased to share that the platform has grown significantly. What began as a scholars’ directory has now been developed into a full-fledged research collaboration and academic social networking platform for members of the Igbo Studies Association.

The goal is to give ISA members a dedicated digital space where scholars, researchers, students, writers, and community knowledge keepers can connect, share work, discover collaborators, and build stronger academic and professional relationships.

Members can now use the platform to:

  • create and update a public scholar profile;
  • share posts, announcements, reflections, media, and research updates through the Scholar Feed;
  • add publications, articles, research interests, and academic biographies;
  • follow other scholars and discover members with related interests;
  • send contact and collaboration requests;
  • use direct messaging and privacy controls;
  • join and participate in research groups;
  • search the scholar directory using improved filters;
  • post and browse research collaboration opportunities;
  • create research project pages;
  • build conference panel proposals;
  • submit conference papers, panels, roundtables, and workshop proposals;
  • access a staff review workflow for conference submissions;
  • receive notifications and digest updates as the platform grows.

There may still be rough edges. I would like to invite members to test drive the platform and share feedback with us. Please log in, explore the different sections, update your profile, try the collaboration tools, and let us know what works well, what feels unclear, and what could be improved before we invite broader member participation.

Your feedback will help us refine the platform and ensure that ISA Scholars becomes a strong, practical, and valuable space for our association.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement as we continue building tools that strengthen ISA’s scholarly community.

Sincerely,

Chidi
President, Igbo Studies Association
