As the year draws to a close and the holiday season is upon us, I extend my warmest Christmas and Holiday greetings to members of the Igbo Studies Association (ISA), our partners, scholars, students, and friends across the world.

This season invites us to pause, reflect, and give thanks, for life, for community, and for the shared commitment that binds us together across borders, disciplines, and generations. It is also a time to recognize the resilience and dedication of our members who continue to advance Igbo knowledge, culture, language, and scholarship in Nigeria, across Africa, and throughout the global diaspora.

ISA has remained steadfast in its mission to promote rigorous scholarship, meaningful dialogue, and cultural preservation. Your research, teaching, creative work, and community engagement continue to enrich the field of Igbo Studies and to strengthen our collective intellectual and cultural heritage.

As we celebrate Christmas, a season of hope, renewal, and goodwill, and observe the many traditions and holidays honored by our diverse membership, I encourage us all to carry forward the values of compassion, reflection, and shared responsibility. These values remain essential as we prepare for the work ahead in the coming year.

Looking forward to 2026, ISA is excited about the opportunities before us, including our 23rd Annual International Conference in Chicago, which will bring us together to reflect on resilience, sustainability, and the future of Igbo societies and global engagement.

On behalf of the leadership of the Igbo Studies Association, I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season, and a peaceful, healthy, and fulfilling New Year.

Sincerely,

Chidi Igwe
President, Igbo Studies Association (ISA)
